Now they are looking for you: their new talented Maintenance Technician to join their team. What you will be doing: As the new Maintenance Technician, you will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and will repair and maintain in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, any mechanical & electrical equipment, such as the EVG & Newcor welders, all other production equipment, welding machines, cranes, presses, forklifts, conveyors, compressors, etc.

Practically speaking, you will:. Receive instructions regarding work assignment from supervisor. Inspect plant equipment to determine the most effective, efficient, and safe way to make all repairs Coordinate with the Production Manager to minimize production downtime and develop working procedure to conduct plant maintenance.

Dismantle, clean, repair, replace, install, maintain, assemble, adjust, and lubricate equipment for proper operating characteristics. Assemble and align gears, bearings and shafts, work on clutches, brakes, pneumatic and hydraulic systems; do pipe fitting and threading, plumbing, erect scaffolding and perform rigging, use burning and welding equipment. Perform simple electrical repairs and remove electrical components from equipment for contractor repair as required.

Hook, direct, and/or operate crane in moving machinery or parts for installation, machining, or repair; assemble, align, level, and adjust machinery and equipment. Set up and/or operate plant production equipment to perform work of a non-production nature necessary to the satisfy performance of maintenance duties. Perform other miscellaneous related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Maintain a neat, orderly work area. Record job time on work order, time report, and other miscellaneous reports. Perform routine set-ups and die changes for production equipment.

Create, track, update, and advise reorders of necessity spare parts or parts needed for preventative maintenance tasks. Manage maintenance inventory for raw materials and advise of stock needs as they arise Consult, schedule, oversee, and approve all outside vendor repairs made at the facility. Establish rapport with the Production Manager to ensure that all vendors are screened and routinely evaluated for performance of duties Required to adhere to all safety rules and regulations and participate in safety efforts.

Perform job functions using safe work practices. The details: This is a fulltime permanent hourly paid position to work for 40 hours per week on a shift schedule from Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will be based in the Garrett, IN area and to work in the manufacturing facility.

What you will bring:. 5 - 7 years related industrial experience preferably in the maintenance area. High school education 2-year associate degree program at community or technical college is preferable.

Vocational school courses in mathematics and geometry, blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, metalworking, drafting and quality and safety practices are highly recommended. Familiarity with tools and equipment like drill press, power saws, grinders, burning equipment, welding equipment, miscellaneous portable powered tools, hand tools, measuring devices, material handling equipment, schematics, etc Ability to understand, edit, and troubleshoot PLC programs. Direct logic PLCs is a plus.

Knowledge of servo hydraulic systems and positioning transducers. Ability to work on electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Ability to work around high current resistance welding equipment. Ability to weld and fabricate.

Understanding of basic machining for mechanical repairs Strong computer skills. Ability to work in AutoCAD. Ability to work in boom lift for crane inspection and repair.

Knowledge of powder coating. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to learn and understand processes to assist machine operators with setup and operation of the equipment.
