Rhode Island Hospital & Newport Hospital, affiliated hospitals of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and part of the Lifespan Physician Group have an opportunity for a board certified or eligible psychiatrist interested in working in a combined adult, in & outpatient position in Newport. You will treat patients with a variety of mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD and psychosis. Our programs encompass a comprehensive view of mental health that includes and integrates the biological, psychological and social dimensions of care.

About the Position:

• Time is split 2 days inpatient, 3 days outpatient
• Patients 18 and over. Unit accepts elderly patients depending on functional status
• Mix of diagnoses: psychotic disorders, mood disorders, PTSD, personality disorders, co-occurring substance use disorders
• Inpatient behavioral health team includes nurses, psych techs, social workers, recreation therapist. There is a full-time psychiatrist who is the medical director of the unit
• Call schedule is shared equitably within the group and varies by location
• Potential to teach medical and PA students with an academic appointment to Brown or Johnson & Wales if desired
• J1 & H1B visa eligible
