Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) in Wynnewood, PA

McConnell & Associates OB/GYN, an Axia Womens Health care center, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join their established practice in Wynnewood, PA part time, 3 days a week. Will consider those looking for full time, 4 days a week.

  • Full-service Obstetrics and Gynecology practice affiliated with Main Line Health, Lankenau Medical Center
  • 6 OB/GYN Physicians to provide mentorship.
  • Four Pennsylvania locations: Wynnewood, Paoli, Edgmont, and King of Prussia

Position Summary:

The Womens Health Nurse Practitioner performs physical examinations, confers with patients in person and by phone/electronically, collaborates with others in the department to ensure a smooth flow of patient care consistent with established quality indicators and participates in the overall coordination of patient care. Other job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Practices under the standard procedure established for the WHNP role consistent with Company policy and in accordance with all legal requirements.
  • Performs IUD and Nexplanon insertions and removals, endometrial Biopsies, and works with Pessaries (educating and maintenance). May perform colposcopies.
  • Conducts age-appropriate assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination consistent with department protocol.
  • Performs assessment/data collection in an on-going systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and cognitive status, patient/family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy.
  • Consults with supervising physician or other clinicians as dictated by patient need and assessment findings.
  • Participates with physicians and other clinicians in the department to assure effective patient care consistent with quality indicators for patients cared for in the designated service.
  • Reviews medical record for follow up or ordering of diagnostic studies under established protocols.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with members of the health care team, patients, and families.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and applies safety principles as identified by the practice.
  • Performs efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning.
  • Demonstrates a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and all members of the health care team.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication modalities to document, track and convey information.
  • Assists with daily patient phone triage.

Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania CRNP license and DEA or ability to obtain.
  • Experience as a Womens Health NP highly preferred; recent graduates with background as L&D RN will be considered.
  • Experience with endometrial biopsies, IUDs, and Nexplanon a plus.
  • Flexible to be scheduled at satellite locations.
  • Eligible to participate in state programs including but not limited to Medicare and Medicaid.
